The Lake District is a beautiful place to visit any time of the year, but autumn with the right weather conditions makes it extra special.

The weather this week has been a real mix so far, generally overcast but the sun making appearances that really drew out the colours of autumn.

This view below shows the path down to Elterwater, with rain clouds over the distant mountains and the sun lighting up the valley below.
