Panoramic memories of the Lake District

Having returned from the Lake District after a great week away, here are a few panoramic photos I took in the week during our travels to different locations.

The first photo below is looking down over Keswick and Derwent Water. As we drove into Keswick I was really struck by the autumn colours and the mountain vista. So with the aid of the Ordnance Survey map on my phone I tracked down this elevated location for the photo. The shot was taken about half a mile up a woodland track from where I parked the car.

The photo below was taken looking down towards Borrowdale at the southern end of Derwent Water; a beautiful area of the Lake District.

On one particular morning we woke up to heavy fog. After setting off for the day in the car we noticed that the fog was very localised, particularly in the valleys. The next goal therefore was to find a suitable spot to capture the atmosphere of the morning.

This final photo below was taken looking across towards Ambleside with the fog rolling in from Lake Windermere (right side of the picture).
