This morning turned out quite to be quite an experience.
As I was leaving the house to take the car to the mechanic before work for a repair, some unusual colouring of a high altitude cloud grabbed my attention resulting in me running to grab the camera. As the minutes ticked by, clear rainbow colours increased in intensity, though not really captured adequately by the camera! A little bit of research revealed that I was watching nacreous clouds! Normally occurring over the polar regions it seems, this was a special treat and a rare spectacle.
After returning home from dropping off the car the cloud soon disappeared, but it wasn’t long before another appeared with the same effects!
A moment to remember!
Then to round off the day as sunset approached I looked out the window and noticed the clouds taking on the most unusual sepia colour! The colour soon faded back to grey but I managed to capture a few photos. The images below are without any form of colour adjustment!
Always worth looking up … !
