Day 1
This winter we have experienced some snow fall locally - but today came into a class of its own! Within the space of 4 hours the landscape was transformed and we have ended up with about 4-5 inches of snow by the end of the afternoon!
Unfortunately I could only pop out for a very short break at lunchtime to make sure Willow could stretch her legs - but managed to get a few examples of the white-out before the sun set … spot the charging Willow somewhere below!
Day 2
Having had a significant dump of snow on the first day - reaching to about 8-10 inches - it continued today!
There were some moments of blue sky …
At lunchtime I managed to get out with the camera to wander in the woods for a short while, by which point the trees were starting to lose some of snow from a slight thaw. Such a contrast to the autumn views in this same wood.
Winter is definitely here!
One disappointment from the intense snow accumulation of the two days shown above, was missing the opportunity to get out with the camera during the heaviest snow fall since I was working at the time. The best I could manage was during Willow’s early morning walk, in near darkness, to get some photos with the mobile phone which came out surprisingly well considering the lack of light - modern technology!
Here’s a few comparisons of the woods taken from similar positions during autumn and then this week. The three snowy mobile phone photos were taken about one hour before sunrise!
