Having had an incredible morning at Loch Clair and Loch Coulin (see the blog here), my son was planning on doing a wild camp on Tom na Gruagaich, and so I decided to accompany him for the ascent, although I wouldn’t be doing the overnight this time.
It was hard work as always when carrying the camera gear up these munros, added with the icey/snowy conditions after about half way up the corrie - but the views on the way up and from the top made up for the exhaustion! Here’s a selection of the photos taken:
I didn’t stay at the top for that long, and soon it was time to head back down, as I was wanting to avoid returning in the dark this time. On the descent looking back to Sgùrr Mhòr and the horns was a great view as the setting sun created shadows over the snowy slopes.
On the return journey home I was treated to super refections of the 100% moon, bringing back memories of the reflections we had earlier that day from the superb morning walk alongside Loch Clair and Loch Coulin. A full on day but special memories of special conditions.
